Having recently debuted the opening track from their upcoming release “Red In Tooth and Claw”, Norway’s MADDER MORTEM have revealed yet another track from the album, this time in the form of a video by Truls Aagedal.
“Fallow Season” perfectly illustrates the different shades that MADDER MORTEM can infuse into their music. With its heavy riffing and the band’s classic metal stance it is easy to assume the track is going to be the epitome of heavy metal, but the sudden arrival on the sceneof Agnete M. Kirkevaag with her expressive, and impressive, vocals , comes almost as a shock, and gives a whole new perspective to the track.
The video for “Fallow Season” is currently streaming exclusively at the following:
Ultraje – PT
Lords of Metal – NL
Spark Rock Magazine – CZ
Dark Essence Records will release “Red In Tooth And Claw” in CD and Digital formats on the 28th October, to be followed by the vinyl edition on the 9th December, and the album is now available to pre-order in CD and vinyl formats from https://www.darkessencerecords.no/artists/madder-mortem/ and the US website at https://darkessence.aisamerch.com , as well as at https://maddermortem.bandcamp.com where the album is also available digitally.
With artwork by Christian Ruud, tracklisting for “Red In Tooth and Claw” is as follows:
1. Blood on the sand
2. If I could
3. Fallow season
5. All the giants are dead
6. Returning to the end of the world
8. Stones for eyes
9. The whole where your heart belongs
Aside from Agnete of vocals, MADDER MORTEM’s lineup includes BP. M. Kirkevaag on guitar & vocals, Richard Wikstrand on guitars, Tormod L. Moseng on bass and Mads Solås on drums, and “Red In Tooth And Claw” sees the band release their sixth full-length album a whole seven years after their previous album “Eight Ways”, first appeared. The original quirkiness much loved by followers of the band is still there, but this time there are also plenty of catchy melodies and a selection of tracks that vary from doom-laden melodies to hard-hitting riffs.
MADDER MORTEM will be celebrating the release of “Red In Tooth And Claw” with a concert at the John Dee in Oslo, Norway, on the 22 December.
